I have a generic laptop bought here in Hungary by a computer company. I installed Windows 7 Pro myself since I needed it in English. I was able to do all of the Windows updates, which fixed my WiFi problems.

Now, I cannot get sound at all. I have tried using speakers and earphones also, but nothing. I have run the troubleshooter and is shows nothing. There are no optionial updates in Windows Updates and when I click on everything related to sound in the drivers, it shows that I am using the latest and best drivers.

This is a laptop I use for my university teaching, where I project videos and other sound related visuals on the wall. I need sound and I am desperate for a solution.
